The Scottish Microscopy Group's 46th Annual Symposium
Wednesday 5th December, 2018
Chester Hotel, 59 - 63 Queen's Road, Aberdeen
Microscopy is at the forefront of current biomedical research, being used across all size and time scales. Here in Scotland, we not only have world-leading microscopy facilities, but are also leading the way with instrument design and implementation. This meeting will showcase some of the exciting developments that are being made, bringing together biologists and physicists using and developing cutting edge microscopy and image analysis techniques.
This year's meeting will be held on Wednesday 5th December 2018 at the Chester Hotel in Aberdeen (09:30 - 16:30), and will feature both submitted and invited talks, and poster sessions. We particularly welcome PhD students and postdocs to submit abstracts and present their research at this event. We also have three fabulous keynote speakers lined up this year: Maddy Parsons (King’s College, London), Brian Metscher (University of Vienna) and Stefania Spano (University of Aberdeen).
Finally, we are excited to announce that we will be running our annual image competition, with prizes awarded for 1st and 2nd place entries. Any image, video or animation, using any microscopy technique, is eligible to be entered. Please see further details by following the links below.
The deadline for abstracts is the 9th of November 2018.
The deadline for registration and submissions for the image competition is the 28th of November 2018.
