Celebrating inspirational and outstanding contributions to the Scottish Microscopy community
The Scottish Microscopist of the Year award celebrates inspirational and outstanding contributions to the Scottish Microscopy community. This competition is run annually.
Scottish Microscopist of the Year will relaunch on 2nd September 2024, with applications being accepted until 4th October. The winner will receive £500 and the chance to speak at our 50th annual symposium. A runner-up prize of £100 will also be given.

Entry is open to early career researchers (PhD to newly independent PI i.e. not tenured) and technical microscopy staff who are involved in microscopy in Scotland, and consists of an easy form to fill in as well as submission of an example image/video.
