Emerging technologies Symposium

Join us for our 'Emerging Technologies' symposium!

We are delighted to announce that we are running our 49th annual symposium online, on the theme of Emerging TechnologiesRegistration is free and is now open, so click here if you’d like to attend.

The day will include microscopy talks from researchers at the forefront of microscope design and implementation for biological application, working here in Scotland. They will be talking through their work and how they are collaborating the biologists. 

We will also have a panel session from the winners of the Facilities Database Funding call, run in collaboration with SULSA.  Attendees will have the opportunity to ask any questions about anything from the technology available in the facilities, to how to use the facilities with the new COVID restrictions. Check out the agenda for the day here.

There will also be talks from our sponsors Nikon and Agar Scientific, and we will be running 3 image competitions in the run up to the event:
 – Images of Research, sponsored by Horiba: The home of FLASH-FLIM 
 – Spotlight on Facilities, sponsored by Zeiss
 – Video competition, sponsored by Digital Pixel

The competition will close 5pm, 24th November. Entries will be judged on the public vote, and winners will be announced at the end of the symposium. There will also be a ‘Judges Choice’ award, Sponsored by FocalPlane, which will be featured on their front page for December. All winners will receive £50 prize money.
